Reconnect, communicate, and build a healthier relationship.
When the same disagreements keep coming up, communication feels harder than it used to, or you find yourselves feeling more like roommates than partners, it can be difficult to know how to move forward.
Couples therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and work toward meaningful change together.
At Journey by Etsuko J, we’ll explore the patterns affecting your relationship, strengthen communication, and help you develop healthier ways to navigate conflict and reconnect with one another.
You don’t have to wait until your relationship is in crisis to seek support.
Couples therapy is available via telehealth to couples located in Georgia during sessions.

You might be here because…

The same conversations keep turning into arguments.
You try to explain what you mean, but somehow the conversation ends in frustration, defensiveness, or silence. You want to understand each other without every disagreement becoming a bigger issue.

You’re feeling disconnected.
Maybe life has become a cycle of responsibilities, parenting, work, and managing the household. You care about each other, but the closeness and intentional time you once shared seem harder to find.

You feel unheard or misunderstood.
One or both of you may feel that your needs aren’t being recognized. You want to feel like you’re on the same team again, even when you don’t see things the same way.

You’re ready for something to change.
You don’t want to keep repeating the same patterns and hoping things will eventually improve. You’re ready to better understand yourselves and each other and begin approaching your relationship differently.
You don’t have to figure it out alone.

Relationships can become strained even when both people care deeply about each other. Stress, unmet expectations, differences in communication, and old patterns can make it difficult to connect in the ways you intend.
Couples therapy creates an opportunity to look beyond the immediate disagreement and understand the patterns underneath it.
Together, we’ll work toward greater awareness, healthier communication, and practical ways to navigate challenges as a team. The goal isn’t to decide who’s right or wrong. It’s to help you understand one another more clearly and create a healthier way of relating.

What working together looks like
A space to understand, not assign blame
Couples therapy isn’t about choosing a winner in an argument. It’s an opportunity to understand each partner’s experiences and how your interactions affect one another.
A clearer picture of your relationship
We’ll use the Prepare/Enrich assessment as part of the clinical process to help inform our understanding of your relationship dynamics, strengths, and areas for growth. The assessment is one tool within therapy, not a stand-alone diagnosis or a substitute for clinical assessment.
Practical, intentional change
We’ll work together to identify patterns, explore new ways of responding, and develop approaches you can practice in everyday life. The work will be guided by your concerns, goals, and clinical needs.
